St Martins Stores closes at 1pm on Wednesday afternoons so it's a good idea to pre-order shopping or pick up some things from the co-op on St Mary's. We are happy to collect your pre-ordered shopping from St Martin’s Stores so that it is in your house when you arrive. They charge a £3 picking fee / order but as a Churchtown Farm guest you shouldn’t be charged. You can email the Island Bakery to order fresh bread and arrange when to collect it. You can also buy frozen beef from our grass fed pedigree herd. Current availability and ordering instructions can be found at scillycow.co.uk |
Before you travelWhat to pack and what not to pack

Getting to St Martin's
Before you travel please find out which boat to St Martin’s suits your arrival time. This information can be found on St Martin’s island website or St Mary’s Boatman’s association website, phone number 01720 423 999. It is best to check again on the day you travel as weather and tides may alter the boat times. If you arrive after the last scheduled boat leaves, or you are traveling in early spring or winter you will need to book a taxi boat, please call Tresco Boats on 01720 423 373 at least a day before you arrive to arrange this. Flying into Tresco by helicopter Before you travel please contact Tresco Estate on 01720 423 373 to arrange a transfer to St Martin’s. |
Make sure you check for any changes to scheduled boats.
Please let us know if your planned arrival time to St Martin's changes. Flying into St. Mary's by Skybus or helicopter In arrivals at St Mary’s airport, collect your bags from the luggage belt. There will be drivers for the shuttle buses waiting, ask to be taken to the quay. Arriving by Scillonian On Penzance quay you will find some red St Martin’s luggage labels which you MUST attach to each of your bags. If you have used red labels, your luggage will be loaded directly on to the boat for St Martin’s and will not come ashore on St Mary’s. Make sure you follow the instruction on disembarkation carefully. From Easter to the end of October there will be a scheduled boat to St Martin’s to tie in with the arrival of the Scillonian. You must travel on the same boat as your luggage and assist in unloading once you get to St Martin's. You can check the boat times on the quay or online at St Martins website. |
St Mary's & the boat to St Martin'sSt Mary’s Quay and the boat to St Martin’s
There are toilets and a waiting room on the quay. If you have time to go for a wander before your boat people often leave luggage but it is at your own risk. It is essential that you phone us or text Zoe’s mobile as soon as you have boarded your boat on St. Mary’s to tell us which quay you will be arriving at and when. If you don’t let us know we won’t turn up to give you a lift!
Please ensure all members of your party and their luggage arrive together. We provide one pick up per property. If people arrive at different times they will need to be able to walk to the property with their luggage. Your holiday cottage should be available from 4pm. If we know you are coming earlier we will try to be ready but if that isn't possible you can use the garden summer house. |
Going homeWe assume that on the day of your departure you are catching the 9.15 (ish) am boat.
If you choose to leave on a later boat, you're welcome to leave your bags in the summer house. Sometimes the time varies so please check the departure time and route the day before and confirm a pickup time with us by 5pm so we can give you a lift to the quay. Whichever boat you decide to leave on, we will need you to check out of your house by 9am so we have time to clean thoroughly before the next guests arrive. |
