About St. Martin's
St Martin's is one of the 'off islands' of the Isles of Scilly, 28 miles off the coast of Cornwall. The islands enjoy a sub tropical climate and are home to a host of exotic plants, colonies of seabirds and rare marine life. Highertown, Middletown and Lowertown make up the three main communities on the island and we have a resident population of about 120 people. Two quays sit at either end of the island and the choice of which quay to use is always dependent on the tides. Don't forget to visit the famous red and white Daymark whilst you are here, constructed in 1683 it is said to be the earliest surviving example of a beacon in the British Isles.

St Martin's is 2 miles long and about 1/4 mile wide, so small enough to wander about on foot, knowing you are never far from your holiday cottage. The biggest attraction on St Martin's is the stunning scenery, consisting of exotic flora, award winning white sandy beaches and pretty stone cottages. The remote and secluded situation of your holiday cottage is part of this holiday's charm. Less than 30 miles off the coast of the mainland and yet worlds apart in atmosphere.
